CompTIA Expands Engagement With Canadian IT Industry

CompTIA, the Association of the IT industry,announced today,is expanding its commitment to manufacturers, distributors, solution providers and other organizations in the vibrant IT industry in Canada is active.


CompTIA IT Business Canadian community launched this month with a first meeting in Toronto. More than 60 business owners,executives and managers in the IT industry in Canada for the introduction of the community re-brand that will build on the achievements of his predecessor,IT Services and Community Support were present (Canada).

This is a very exciting time to be actively involved with CompTIA, said Kevin Hiebert,a consultant with the pressure set and the president of the Canadian CompTIA IT business community.With our new name and our current initiatives, we can use the current success of the community to form, while achieving the most important people and companies in the IT industry in Canada.

The new name better reflects the community makeup wider community participants. Members are IT resellers, solution providers, distributors, suppliers and distributors serving SMB IT Channel and IT service and support industry in Canada.

As the industry continues to evolve and grow, we are looking for more inclusive and more facets of the Canadian IT channel active,said Jim Hamilton, vice president of member communities, CompTIA.We offer companies in Canada, the IT industry is a forum for networking, a place to learn and industry best practices. And a group of experts to discuss and address issues in the industry,the community also serves as a sounding CompTIA helps us understand how we can better the IT industry serving Canada.

Current Initiatives

Current focus of the community is on the development of a trustmark or business-level credentials to the specific market needs of the Canadian IT solution providers and customers they serve tailored.Companies are the seal of approval by demonstrating an ongoing commitment to providing quality service to customers and to earn in sound business practices.

The plan is a series of educational content and programming on the latest industry trends and technology innovations, such as big data,cloud computing and mobility. The intention is to grow companies with actionable steps they can take to offer to deliver solutions in these areas,creating new revenue streams and opportunities to their business.
